The music on Acquiescent Resonance is composed, performed, recorded and mixed by the Renaissance man of Canadian music, Dino Pacifici, whose performance includes guitars, synths, Roland sampler, drums, percussion programming and "vocal phrases." When does the man eat and sleep?!? Well, ok, he had help. Richard Trepanier offers up his tenor sax sounds on "It's Gotta Have Soul." What's the matter, Dino, no time to take up woodwinds? Well, that's OK, just as long as you keep doing what you do so well. Acquiescent Resonance is Pacifici's fifth solo release, and he's been just as expansively involved on the previous four. That on top of his outside composing, his work as a player on the Canadian pop and dance scene and, presumably, some occasional eating and sleeping. It's one of those things where the mere accomplishment is so amazing that the fact that it's done so well almost puts it beyond comprehension, let alone comment.
But hey, you paid big bucks for my opinion, right? So here ya' go.

Dino Pacifici's solo albums are landmarks on a musical quest for something he calls "Ambience with and attitude - a positive attitude." Along the path, he's assimilated jazz, trip-hop, ambient and new age sounds into a distinctive but ever evolving mix. On Acquiescent Resonance he adds a new seasoning to his musical stew with a nod toward the dub tip. It's the perfect accent, adding a dimension of depth to what's come before.

Someday Dino Pacifici may get where he's going musically. It will probably sound terrific, but it will be a bit of a shame, because the journey has yielded so many rewards. Reward yourself by riding along. If your local dealer hasn't stocked up, visit his web site.
